Artist Statement

How much history does each urban area contain? How much shelter is there available for our emotional memory? We have been undergoing high-speed development and urbanization. This is an era of discarding and replacing. The disjointed relationship between the spiritual and the material puts the city under the control of materialism and lust. When traditional ideals of culture and natural environment faded away, the city became filled with metropolitans, living in disguise and living alienating interpersonal relationships with indifferent strangers. The development of the city is to serve its dwellers, to improve the quality of life, and to promote harmony between people and nature. However, the expansion of the city actually creates boundaries between people and people, people and the city, and human and nature.
