Guo Fengchen is professor in the College of Fine Arts at HNU, supervisor of postgraduates, and a member of the China Artists Association.

Brothers reflects the brotherhood between the Kuomindang (KMT) and the Communist Party of China (CPC) who jointly fought against the Japanese invasion during the anti-Japanese war. Using watercolor techniques, the painter characterizes the brotherhood between two KMT and CPC soldiers—and the brotherhood and family love across the Taiwan straits. The painting tells the truth that the nation must unite in order to prosper.
