Artist Statement

Public sculpture was once divided into memorial sculpture and landscape sculpture; however, this classification cannot encompass all the public arts at present. The permanent charm of sculpture is embedded in its abundant visual space governance; therefore, sculpture plays an important role as public art. Public artwork bears characteristics of openness, permanency, and cohesiveness. At the same time, it occupies public resources such as land and materials. In my opinion, we need to comprehensively combine advanced science, history, and culture to make public artworks more interesting and representative of contemporary times.
