中国著名油画家，美术教育家，中国 “伤痕美术”主要代表人物。1971年至1984年先后在成都市艺校（五·七文艺学习班）、四川美术学院、中央美术学院学习绘画。曾任教于四川美术学院、中央美术学院、奥斯纳布吕克大学（德国）；曾担任中国第一、二届油画展评委；1986年受法国文化部邀请从事艺术活动的第一位中国油画家；作品多次荣获国家级美术作品展大奖；中国高校油画、素描、动画教材主编。现为四川大学特聘教授、博士研究生导师，四川大学新艺术研究中心主任。

•From 1971 to 1984, Cheng studied painting at several institutions, such as the Chengdu Art School, Sichuan Fine Arts Institute, and Central Academy of Fine Art.

•Taught at the Sichuan Fine Arts Institute, Central Academy of Fine Arts, and University of Osnabrück (Germany).

•Served as the judge of the first two sessions of China’s National Painting Exhibition;

•In 1986 he was the first Chinese painter invited by the French Ministry of Culture to participate in artistic activities.

Life is short, and we borrow our lives from our Creators. Therefore I try to discover the world through art with “an intense look but also a soft touch.” Art is everywhere. Just like people coming from different places have different preferences for food, I prefer following my heart to enjoy art and nature.
